last minute booking on the classica and looking for visa info for vietnam and china , also where are we dock in saigon ? and private tour contact

either here or on our email moisansylvain@videotron.ca

thank you very much

I think you'll find that Costa will sort your Vietnam visa, but China I think is up to you and has to be done in advance - process can take some time but shortened by express (and expensive) service, so find out soonest.

Classica used to dock at Ben Nha Rong, just a ten-minute walk from the compact city centre. But there's a new bridge over the Saigon River which she may not fit under, so you may be a little further out or you MAY even be berthed at the mouth of the Saigon River at Vung Tau, and that's a good 2 to 3 hours by coach. Well worth checking it out, it makes a huge difference.

No suggestions for Vietnam guides. Although Smiles Tours has a good reputation, there are others masquerading under the same name and I'd be very very wary of pre-paying a tour operator without solid recommendations.

Vietnam & China are great to visit, but not the sort of places to book short-notice without research

Costa brochure indicates for Asia cruises .

Hong Kong generally grants Visa free entry for 30 days.

For trips calling Sanya (Hainan Island) only in mainland China then Costa get Visa and charge your on board account . For calls entry to mainland China at other ports you need to get Single or Multiple Entry China Tourist Visa before departing your home country.

For Vietnam generally providing port calls do not exceed 2 ports in Vietnam then cost arrange Visas and charge your on board account .

Check with your TA however ASAP and get them to sort it out with Costa .

Thanks for the detail re Costa/Sanya which I wasn't aware of.

Also, if the OP has a few days in HK, he can arrange a day-trip into mainland China using Viator.com or others - they include a group visa in the tour fee. But this only from/back to HK in a one-day tour group, & needs a few days notice.
