... WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TUESDAY TO 7 PM EST WEDNESDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN STERLING VIRGINIA HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR... WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TUESDAY TO 7 PM EST WEDNESDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

* PRECIPITATION TYPE... SNOW.

* ACCUMULATIONS... 10 TO 20 INCHES

* TIMING... MID-AFTERNOON TUESDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY.

* TEMPERATURES... TEMPERATURES NEAR FREEZING AT THE ONSET TUESDAY AFTERNOON. TEMPERATURES WILL DROP INTO THE UPPER 20S TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY.

* WINDS... LIGHT SOUTHEASTERLY WINDS TUESDAY BECOMING NORTHWESTERLY 15 TO 25 MPH WEDNESDAY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. THE COMBINATION OF SNOW AND STRONG WINDS WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS.

Getting tired of the snow. Luckily for us we are south of the heavy snow this time and will be leaving Thursday for our cruise out of Ft Lauderdale this weekend.

Here in central/southern NJ under 14" of snow and looking at another 6-12" Tues/Wed... Wish I was cruising....to all you lucky people leaving on your cruise soon...enjoy and have a drink for us...

We were scheduled to fly out of Boston 7pm Wednesday--peak of the storm. Lucky to get a 5:30am flight Friday since it is the start of school vacation week. Wonder if we will get any sleep. Have to leave for airport by 2:30am. Glad I picked up my pills for the flight. May have to use them Thursday to get to sleep.

 

Just glad the weekend storm missed us.

I totally agree. I live in Daytona and we are going to have below freezing temps tomorrow night for about the 10th time this year. We even had sleet during the last cold spell in the end of Jan. This is the coldest winter in Central Florida since the late 1970's.

I totally agree. I live in Daytona and we are going to have below freezing temps tomorrow night for about the 10th time this year. We even had sleet during the last cold spell in the end of Jan. This is the coldest winter in Central Florida since the late 1970's.
