Dog Drool Posted February 12, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2010 I have heard that RCL will not be cruiseing from norfolk in 2011. Do we know who is?
mrlddst Posted February 12, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 12, 2010 Right now the schedule for Norfolk only shows 2010 and the cruise lines don't show anything for 2011 right now. I hope they plan on coming back!
Rare finoky Posted February 13, 2010 #3 Share Posted February 13, 2010 I have hear the same thing. Hope it's not true cause we sailed RCL last year on the Grandeur and loved it. We had planned on sailing them again out of Norfolk.
GrannyMouse Posted February 16, 2010 #4 Share Posted February 16, 2010 Seems like the City of Norfolk officials would have had some kind of commitment from cruise lines before they invested 8 million or so in the terminal. What a waste!!
pjlee3333 Posted February 17, 2010 #5 Share Posted February 17, 2010 The last few years Royal Caribbean seems to have split the summers between Baltimore and Norfolk. It seems that, for now, they have decided to homeport Enchantment out of Baltimore after it mores in June. Will this change, time will tell. Will another cruise line move line move in, time will tell. What I've heard is that Baltimore has a larger market with easier flights schedules coming into it. You've got three major airports (okay Dullus isn't the most convient of the three but someone has to be last).

I have heard the same thing that Baltimore has a larger market and the fact that there are 3 airports with BWI just down the road. Another feature is that people will Baltimore and DC before and after a cruise unless of course you are local. Although I don't cruise in the winter it is nice to have more choices out of Baltimore. Eng23 Posted August 25, 2010 #8 Share Posted August 25, 2010 It is true that Royal Caribbean is not cruising from Norfolk next year. The only cruise line with published cruises for 2011 so far is Carnival.
