Darcy8 Posted February 12, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2010 My Mom, 71, wants to cave tube or zip line. I think both would be too much. Which do you think would be easier for someone of her age? Concerns would be dragging the tube a great distance and paddling in river vs. walk to zips and ability to control speed and stop on zips? I would say she is average in shape/health.
Raceroc Posted February 12, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 12, 2010 My mother is 73 and in very good shape (except a bad knee). She has been zip lining several times and loves it. Controlling speed or stopping is not a problem. The hike or climb may be. She has also Parasailed, helmit diving, Americas cup boat racing, segways, swimming with reef sharks, and other stuff. I would not hesitate to take her cave tubing. There is a hike to the place they get in the water but the guides normally will carry the tube if someone is having problems. Enjoy! But depending upon what other ports you are going to, there are probably other opportunities to zip line but not cave tube. If you mother is reasonably fit, she should be able to handle cave tubing just fine. And then go zipping in another port. Hope I'm that active when I'm 71. God bless her!
