pixieperson Posted February 15, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 15, 2010 Is it necessary to book seats on Thomson flights. We are going from Newcastle to Sharm el Sheik on 25th Feb and have heard tales of couples not being seated together unless they have pre-booked seats. Any comments? Ov3rride Posted February 15, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 15, 2010 In a word, no. Its another money maker. I have prebooked ours though as we wanted specific seats/row on the 767 (im an aviation nut) and it cost about £35 for us both return. They allocate seats on a best fit model and always try to seat families together anyway provided they are on the same booking ref. When i worked on check-in we allocated them there apart from no meal passengers who were already pre-seated and we never seemed to have a problem apart from one who we moved at the gate. I suggest you turn up early to check in if not so any possible problems can try to be recitified should they arise. The flight is down to be operated by a Boeing 757-200 with a configuration of 3-3 so personally i cant see a problem. If 4 of you are going generally its 3 + 1 across the aisle. With 2 its either window+middle, middle + aisle or 2 aisles on the odd occasion as this is classed as still sitting together.

Cymro1953 Posted February 15, 2010 #5 Share Posted February 15, 2010 Pleasure. Our friends had problems last month on a hotel hoilday in Sharm. But they were last through check in and had to sit several rows apart. We always get there early with no probs. Berwyn
