Balcony Dinner

And you would not believe how many people were boarding in FLL with sweat pants and tee shirts as well as women in their 50's with ragged denim mini skirts.

It looked like a Wal-Mart on a Saturday evening.

Mike:)

I might be upset if I saw this at dinner, but at embarkation, I don't expect people to be dressing up. If I'm gearing up for a long day of traveling, waiting in lines, and walking around in the heat, I go for comfort.

Fellow pax sometimes do a lot of strange/inappropriate/embarassing things, but dressing for comfort during embarkation certainly isn't one of them.

I'm planning on wearing my bikini on embarkation day just in case my luggage doesn't arrive right away.

:D

Well the ship was beautiful and the staff terrific; but the extra 500 passengers were quite noticeable at times.

It will take us a long time before we can get on another ship with more passengers than the Grand class (2600).

Just my opinion, mind you.

How do you pre-pay for it? I can't locate that....Thanks!

The easiest way to pre-prder is simply call 1-800-princess and tell them you want to order the Ultimate Balcony Dinner (UBD) - you'll need your booking number. It will be charged to whatever charge card you have on your account. Once you get on board there will be a card waiting in your cabin and you will need to call (DINE) and schedule it for whatever evening you like - I'd do that as soon as you get on the ship!

Don't forget, this is one of those special ocassions where you want to be prepared to have cash on hand to tip.

The service is that good....you'll probably end up tipping more than you thought.

I read a post where someone completely forgot about getting cash for the tip and had to run down to the casino because they really wanted to tip the waiter. So we make sure we have cash ready for this event.

Excellent service!!!! And definitely--above and beyond.

Our anniversary is on Halloween and even though it might be a "special" night on board, we still decided the UBD would be perfect for our 19th wedding anniversary. It is a sea day so it will likely be formal.
