Are they strict on minimum age??

We are interested in going on an excursion which involves zip lining. My 10 year old has done this several times before. However, I noticed that on all of the Carnival excursions offered, they either have a 12 year old or 15 year old minimum age. Is there any chance of getting a waiver?

 

We are cruising on the Miracle to Panama, Costa Rica, and Belize on the April 5th sailing.:cool:

I doubt it highly.

Those restrictions are imposed by Carnival's insurer so I'm sure they aren't flexible in the least.

You might just want to book the excursion on your own to allow your son to join in...

As Mach says - highly unlikely due to insurer. There may be other ziplines that allow it as obviously he has done it before.

The minimum age on the Lost World Canopy Tour in Belize is 8. I just booked it for my husband and I recently. Hope this helps.

I'm sure that your child is well qualified to do the ziplining tour that you want to do, but if they made exceptions for you, they'd have to do it for everyone. I'm sure there is a good reason for the age restrictions and insurance may or may not be the one.

 

I also agree that you might try to book the ziplining on your own. Many tour operators don't have regulations that are as strict as Carnival. Good luck.

You might consider finding a local provider and doing the zipline tour directly through them. Often their minimum age will be as low as 5 years old.
