thanks any ideas on how to bring it onboard besides the regular old plastic bag which may be a headache to carry

What we do is to transfer things from our carry on (wheeled) to the luggage, and load them up in there. That way we can wheel them right onboard, and directly to our stateroom. If your luggage is already full, just take an extra lightweight bag and transfer items from the suitcase or carry on to that to free up the carry on space. ;)

I bring the Gatorade packets and mix them with water. No problems carrying this way. I also bring packets of lemonade, iced tea, fruit punch, etc..

If you are going to bring bottles, I bring a soft cooler you can get at CVS, Walgreens, etc for a few bucks. I fit a 12 pack of soda and a 12 pack of beer. I put a luggage tag on it and it was the first piece to arrive last year.

If you are drinking canned Coke products they probably won't be able to tell, so I doubt they'd be concerned. I'd imagine they'd look the other way if it was a beer they don't carry perhaps. BUT, I don't think they'd appreciate it if someone is walking around with a bottle of Jack Daniels or something, lol.

Seriously, though, I have seen people walking around the ship with bottled beer that the ship did not carry. It was plainly obvious and I saw it numerous times, so it may not be much of an issue, unless you get someone who decides to object to it. They don't really object to people bringing beer/soda/water/beverages aboard from ports, so I doubt you would have a problem.

Cheers,

Freddie
