There is no easy way to predict how good or bad it could be. I have read reviews of pre-drydock cruises where there was nothing different in the sailing. I have also read reviews of pre-drydock cruises where stuff was being shut down a few days early, and construction started during the last day or two.

 

Personally unless I had no other choices, or the cost was an amazing deal... I wouldn't sail last before, or first after.

My mom was on the Golden on the sailing after refit and the casino wasn't open, the steak house wasn't finished.

 

People that sailed on the Caribbean after it's refit had similar issues. The Caribbean Princess wasn't up to 100% till almost 3 weeks after re-entering service. Construction took longer for the Crown Grill (I think was the longest item in that case)
