So if they ban smoking on the Bridge and Engine Control Room then smoking should be banned shipwide.

"1 rule for one, 1 rule for everybody else me thinks.":D

Nope....If they allow it on the Bridge and the engine control room (and probably crew/staff quarters as well) then it should be allowed shipwide. :D

First, shore excursions should not be considered, a good AI also has them.

I look at it this way. Some of us get off the ship to go snorkeling or some beach time per-say. A good AI has that already included, amongst all the other water activities that RCCL would make you pay for that or you are hunting down a cab but yet at an AI-no worries.

I have priced out an AI for an up an coming vacation. It is exactly the same as RCCL-staying in a suite and I am staying in what they call concierge level and it is currently $550 cheaper then this last Serenade cruise. I will have no sea pass bill and have no need to book excursions as this resort is full of activities. I have been to this same resort chain befor and liked the product so I'm sure it will be the same at this island.

They are out there. You just have to do some research. No different then cruising. It's just that some people on C.C. do nothing but cruise so they may not be as knowledgeable on what resorts are out there with real good prices now.

Sometimes you just need to lounge by a real pool or beach with drinks flowing. No worries about finding a nice seat by the pool. A walk to the beach. No cab ride needed.

Both are very different but just as good.;) And yes-resort prices are very good at this time.

There are lots of free activities, just like there are on a ship, but not many of them equate to an excursion (IMO). The last AI we went to, we did whale watching, visited a national park, and snorkeled around a shipwreck.

I think you all got on the wrong thread somehow or did you intend to hijack this thread on smoking vs nonsmoking?

Maybe the smokers could use a nicotine substitute for the one week they are cruising. Decreases chance of fires, things smell better, and they might just decide to keep quitting by the end of the week.

In 20 minutes your blood pressure will drop back down to normal.

In 8 hours the carbon monoxide (a toxic gas) levels in your blood stream will drop by half, and oxygen levels will return to normal.

In 48 hours your chance of having a heart attack will have decreased. All nicotine will have left your body. Your sense of taste and smell will return to a normal level.

In 72 hours your bronchial tubes will relax, and your energy levels will increase.

In 2 weeks your circulation will increase, and it will continue to improve for the next 10 weeks.

In three to nine months coughs, wheezing and breathing problems will dissipate as your lung capacity improves by 10%.

In 1 year your risk of having a heart attack will have dropped by half.

In 5 years your risk of having a stroke returns to that of a non-smoker.

In 10 years your risk of lung cancer will have returned to that of a non-smoker.

In 15 years your risk of heart attack will have returned to that of a non-smoker.

After 100 different threads on smoking-nonsmoking, you're right, but it is fun to tease the non-smokers!:D:p God forbid if we all just respected each others' opinions and try to be considerate of each other.

In 20 minutes your blood pressure will drop back down to normal. Unless you are 200 lbs overweight and continue that see-food diet ( see food, eat it).

In 8 hours the carbon monoxide (a toxic gas) levels in your blood stream will drop by half, and oxygen levels will return to normal. Unless you suck the exhaust of the gas-guzzling SUV you drive to carry your fat-*** to MacD's.

In 48 hours your chance of having a heart attack will have decreased. All nicotine will have left your body. Your sense of taste and smell will return to a normal level. Unless you are 200 lbs overweight and can't get that double-fat-*** with a side thunder thighs out of your mouth.

In 72 hours your bronchial tubes will relax, and your energy levels will increase. Unless you allergic to perfume, or are asthmatic(sp?)

In 2 weeks your circulation will increase, and it will continue to improve for the next 10 weeks. Unless you are 200 lbs overweight and can't get that double-fat-*** with a side thunder thighs out of your mouth.

In three to nine months coughs, wheezing and breathing problems will dissipate as your lung capacity improves by 10%. Unless you are 200 lbs overweight and can't get that double-fat-*** with a side thunder thighs out of your mouth. And you get off your lazy fat-*** and try some exercise

In 1 year your risk of having a heart attack will have dropped by half.

Unless you are 200 lbs overweight and can't get that double-fat-*** with a side thunder thighs out of your mouth

In 5 years your risk of having a stroke returns to that of a non-smoker.

Unless you are already genetically predisposed to high bad cholestrol and you are 200 lbs overweight and can't get that double-fat-*** with a side thunder thighs out of your mouth

In 10 years your risk of lung cancer will have returned to that of a non-smoker. Unless the cause of your cancer is related to the work you do, not the cigarettes you never smoked

In 15 years your risk of heart attack will have returned to that of a non-smoker. Unless you are 200 lbs overweight and can't get that double-fat-*** with a side thunder thighs out of your mouth

See my arguments are as lame and unproven as yours! As for smelling better that is all a matter of opinion what smells good. The perfume bathers trigger my asthma attacks but smoking doesn't seem to have that effect, strange how that works.

Wouldn't that be great!!;)

forgot to add;

Please try to understand that handing a smoker a pack of nicorette gum/lozenges will not immediatly work!

That's because it takes a while to figure out how to keep them lit!

Taking chantix or Zyban (tried 'em both), you continue to smoke for up to 2 weeks to build up the levels in your system. If it weren't for the allegry to zyban, the creepy dreams and other side effects of Chantix, and the gum causing some serious mouth sores, more folks might dedcide to quit. But like some folks we just like to have a smoke now and then irregardless of all the antismoking hype.

The smokers are much easier targets than the non-smokers.Afterall the non-smokers are smart enough not to smoke:D .God forbid that the smokers respect the non-smoker and respect their right to clean air

Here is some "antismoking hype" for you.

Definition: ``A cigarette is a euphemism for a cleverly crafted product that delivers just the right amount of nicotine to keep its user addicted for life before killing the person.'' World Health Organization director-general Gro Harlem Brundtland

Enjoy your smoke.:)

Yep but it easier to light up a bunch of nonsmokers and get them to make ridiculous claims of I'm allergic, my neighbor smoked 24/7 on his balcony, I had to walk through smoke in the smoking area, and the best is I can smell smoke in a gale force 9 storm on my balcony at the front of the ship. These threads all end up the same, nobody wins, some nonsmokers want to control every aspect of everybody elses' life style except their bad habits don't affect anybody. Too bad they aren't smart enough to stop beating a dead horse on these threads. :D

WHO's he another socialist parrot from the UN? Like they don't make reports match their desired agenda. Fuzzy logic is not scientific proof. Just because you repeat something a million times doesn't make it true!!!:D

Oh it's not hype, it is generally going to benefit your health and that of those around you if you don't smoke.

Not unless everybody quits eating double fat*** burgers and fries at MacD's, driving gas-guzzling SUVs, polluting the water, farting, and wearing bottles of perfume instead of bathing!:) You can't win the argument unless you quit arguing!!! :D

I voted no. Let's not errod any more personal choices to protect us from ourselves.

For the record, I'm a non-smoker...wait, better (worse?) yet, I'm a reformed smoker. I quit using Chantix in Oct of 08. I didn't do it for my health, I did it because ciggies were close to $8 a pack here in RI. I could not afford to smoke any more.

I think people will always feel strongly on either side of this issue, I would never argue with someone about it as I know I would not change their mind, no matter which side of the issue they fall on. ;)

but non-smokers realize that their dream of a smoke free vacation is getting closer everyday:).There are more smoking restrictions than last year, there were more last year than the year before and so on and so on:).Its not beating a dead horse when progress is made on a regular basic;).

but a smoker is more likely to partake in those behaviors. The non-smoker is more likely to partake in a healthy lifestyle of eating healthy and exercising regularly including walking and riding bikes, and using less perfume.

And when they restrict it the point they (the cruiselines) lose 25% of the cruisers, nonsmokers will be paying 25% more to take that same cruise because they lost 25% of their profit. If you want to see want a nearly smoke-free cruise line looks like, try Oceania or Regents Seven Seas (we have). Outside the hover-round races and parking lots on the main dining room deck, they were about as exciting as farting in church!

but 25% of their passengers do not smoke,I love the way smokers inflate the percentages.Even if 25% percent of the adults did smoke you have to keep in mind that RCCL is a family ship and kids don't smoke
