cruise to Egypt

I will be doing the Eastern Mediteran Cruise on the NCL Jade next March and would like to know if I need a Visa to go on shore in Egypt or Turkey?

No as long as you are doing day trips off the ship.

If you were flying in to Turkey to board the ship for example then you would need a visa.

You can confirm this by checking with the Egyptain and Turkish Embassies in the US. You can find them listed on the web and communicate with them via email.

We took a cruise with ports in Turkey and Eqypt last October. Both our TA and the cruise line were not helpful in advising us correctly on this issue. We checked with the embassies and received an email confirming we did not need visas.

As long as you are a US national don't bother getting the Turkish visa before getting to the Istanbul airport. Its like getting a stamp from the US post office there. takes no time and cost $20.

On the ship Egypt issues a courtesy two day visa. the cruise line will get it for you(sometimes charging a fee sometimes not).

Don't waste your time and money getting either before
