gdoyle Posted February 20, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2010 We are planning a short 4 day cruise in April. We've cruised 12 times on multiple cruise lines (longer 7 - 14 day cruises). Seems like both the Majesty of the Seas and the Century have undergone refurbishments. Which cruise would you recommend simply on the ship, not factoring itinerary. bmazzo Posted February 20, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 20, 2010 We are planning a short 4 day cruise in April. We've cruised 12 times on multiple cruise lines (longer 7 - 14 day cruises). Seems like both the Majesty of the Seas and the Century have undergone refurbishments. Which cruise would you recommend simply on the ship, not factoring itinerary. We've been on 23 cruises and Majesty was our first. We do a mix of long and short cruises each year and our short ones this year are Century (in 8 days! :D) days and Majesty in September. Both cruises are fun, but very different. Century is more relaxing with sea days. It feels like a short version of a longer cruise. Where Majesty is a short port intensive fun cruise. Although we've sailed Century only once before and Majesty 4 times already, I'll give the edge to Century
jodanuke Posted February 20, 2010 #3 Share Posted February 20, 2010 Although not been on the Majesty, we were on the Century 2 months ago in november. I honestly could not fault anything about it from start to finish. From first going aboard and greeted with a tray of drinks, to leaving a week later. Will definately be back on it. (its not a "her" its a ship) Peter

brenderlou Posted February 20, 2010 #5 Share Posted February 20, 2010 As the above posted said. The Century beats the Majesty by a mile!!! We did a 4 (or 5, can't remember) night on the Century that went to Key West and one other port. Although we love RCCL we found the Century a better maintained ship and the service was hands down better than the Majesty. We were so impressed by this boat (and the cruise line) that we would go again in a second and also would go on one of Celebrities larger/new boats w/out hesitation based on our experience on the Century. Go for the Century!!!!
Shooraq Posted February 20, 2010 #6 Share Posted February 20, 2010 I haven't been on Majesty, but her sister ship, Monarch. I think that the Century is a classier ship, with an awesome martini bar, good food, nice design. If it's affordable, go with Century.
vplsh Posted February 21, 2010 #7 Share Posted February 21, 2010 I'll add my vote for Century. The service is awesome, the martini bar (as mentioned above) is phenomenal, and the ship is lovely. We were on Century for the 4 day in December and loved it!
