River cruise on Avalon Tranquility in april 2010

Am new to river cruising and interested in any hints, comments on this cruise line, and also overall critique in general; what is normal tipping arrangement?

How do you find that link. We are thinking of taking a river cruise in France this fall so any input would be helpful.

Queen Bear - It is in the "Community section" (as is this thread) under "Special Interest Cruising".

 

We did Paris & Normandy with Uniworld in 2008 --> it was wonderful. There is more information about the Seine - as well as cruising the south of France - with various lines.

Click on "Community" under quick links at the bottom of the Cruise Critic home page - You found this thread under "Cruise Lines A - O --> then under "Other cruise lines...." Look further down the page for "Special Interest Cruising " - and in that area you will see "River and Canal Cruises" --> same size font as this thread (ie: Other Cruise Lines). Click on the River and Canal link - and that takes you into a entire thread on River Cruising. You can search the forum for info specifically on French river cruises.

Thank you. I found the river and canal thread. It sounds like the river cruises fill up early in the year. We are hoping to go with friends in late September or October.
