Madeira

The Madeira website is saying that they hope things will be back to normal by Monday !!! Apparently it is the old town of Funchal which is the worst affected and the hotel area is unaffected. the airport is open but it does not mention the port.......looking at the video footage on the news it was around the harbour area that was affected with big holes appearing in the roads, etc. But who knows how the rest of the island has been affected.? .....Of course they will want the cruise ships to come with much needed income but ultimately it will depend on the cruise lines I expect.

Well the Island escape spent an extra day at sea and continued on to Las Palmas where special flights were arranged for those departing and arriving in Madeira. She is due back on the 1st March. No itinerary changes made

Costa Marina stayed at sea and one of the MSC lines decided to go to Arrecife instead.

Costa Serena is next to dock on saturday, maybe it will, maybe it wont.
