Rental car in Tampa

Running into a small issue... maybe even a big one but I've not conceded to it just yet. When we return from our cruise it's not only a Sunday but a holiday weekend. We're having a difficult time finding agencies open other than at the airport.

 

How far of a cab ride are we looking at to get from the cruise port to the airport?

 

We don't know the area, are there rental shops near by that I can check hours of operation?

 

We'll be staying in FL for a few days post cruise, have places to go and people to see but it could get a wee bit difficult without a car :cool:

Hertz has an agency at the port.

From the port to the airport maybe 15 minutes--$25.00 flat rate taxi fare..

Vans charging $10.00pp to the airport were also available. Look for someone at a podium outside the port building as you exit.

Thanks, I'll take a look at Hertz first. Getting a rental from the airport might be OK too as we'll be there to drop it off before flying home.
