Any tips on phoning home from Limon?

Puerto Limon will be our first port after being at sea for several days so we will need to make several calls back to the states upon arrival. Just wondering how easy it is to use their phone system (pay phone, phone cards, etc.). Is it best to use a special shop such as an internet cafe or just buy a phone card and/or use a pay phone?
