Two questions need answering

1. We will be arriving to the port around 9:30 AM. (Silver Spirit) Will Silversea store our luggage so we can do some sightseeing before the noon bording?

2. When we do board can we make dinner resrvations with one Maitre'D or do we go to each restaurant to make our reservations?

This is our first Silversea cruise. This board has been extremely helpful. Thank you. Linda

We've always left bags in the hotel for the morning, so I'll leave it to others to give a definitive answer. But it may depend on the specific port at which you will board - where is that?
2. When we do board can we make dinner resrvations with one Maitre'D or do we go to each restaurant to make our reservations?
The answer to this is changing. In theory, the new butlers will make reservations for you. (You don't need reservations for the main restaurant.) Also, an online reservation service (before you board) is rumoured. You should be able to make reservations during the afternoon with the Maitre d' at each speciality restaurant. If the ship is full and the cruise is a short one (a week, say), they may limit you to one reservation for each location and offer to waitlist you for further occasions, to give everybody a chance to try each venue.

Thank for your replies.

The port is Venice, Italy and we will be flying in the same day we board. Flight should arrive around 9:00 am. I figure by the time we go through Customs then make our way to the ship, it would be around 10:30 am. This will leave about 1 1/2 hours to do a little touring.

Again, the second part of the question is, is there one Maitre'D in which to make all the dinner reservations or do we have to go to each restaurant to make them? As I've learned from this board "The Restaurant" is the only restaurant we do not need to reserve for an evening meal.

We've never made reservations, except when we arranged for a celebration with many people or a special meal (for example, Indian food for 8). Otherwise, we go to the bar and then from there go to the restaurant whenever we want.
