paul8 Posted February 28, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 28, 2010 Meet and Greet: For the roll call of the NCL Sun cruise 1.31.10 - 2.14.10 Buenos Aires to Santiago, Ed Morris made arrangements with NCL while I maintained the list. Using Excel, about a month prior to the cruise, I asked each member to email me with the names of their party along with their cabin number. I then entered that in Excel in no apparent order. About a week before the cruise I printed an invitation to each member, on the back of which was a list of people that said they would attend and this was in alphabetical order by cruise critic id. In addition I made 10 extra copies to be delivered to officers, but I would have to find the names when I was aboard the vessel. I had expected to deliver the invites by deck, but when I got to the front desk, they delivered the officers invites. There were about 5 I did not have cabin numbers for, and these ended up being delivered by the front desk. I showed them the envelopes of the other invites I had which had cabin numbers, and numbered about 30, they delivered those also. Somewhere in cruise critic I read that NCL charged $1.30 for delivery (at least I thought I read it). The cost for delivery was $.00. At the meet and greet, the hotel director Calvin showed up with other officers, gave a talk, introduced the officers and explained their duties, then took questions. Never in my wildest dreams had I expected this to be the success it was. Ed said that I deserved a round of applause for the work I had done, but the truth is that the meet and greet would have been a failure if members of the roll call had not come and Ed’s work as well as my own would have been in vain. If anyone has question, please email paul.katz1@verizon.net with meet and greet in the subject line.
