Swanp tour

Is February a good time of year to go? I was looking on a couple websites and it sounded like you don't see the Aligators until after April. Is there a best time of day to go?

It would probably be very cold on a swamp tour in feb. Once the boats start moving fast, it gets very windy. The gators are there but they do prefer warmer weather since they are reptiles. The only swamp tours I've been on were in the summer.

I agree. While the temps in NOLA go up and down all the time, it would be too chilly to go in Feb. There are some great other things that you can do indoors or by bus if that is to your liking.

Well with wind chill it is 15 below 0 and we just got another foot of snow so I think anything you have there is going to feel like an "up" to us. What other things would you recommend for children? I read about a children's museum, is that any good? How about the aquarium? We are also going to seaworld so not sure it would be worth the money.

What about a swamp tour in Mid March (March 17th)? Do you think it would still be too cold to see much?

 

How might the weather be for that?

It could go either way, but odds are in favor of us having some beautiful spring-like weather when you're here in mid March. We don't get many cold fronts coming down this far in Mid to Late march.
