In case you don't know, effective today JFK's largest runway is closed for the next four months for repaving. Consequently, during this period they are expecting longer delays for both take off and landing.

I avoid JFK like the plague and fly out of Newark Liberty, Atlantic City, or Philadelphia.

 

I've sat on JFK runways for hours even before they closed for repairs. :eek:

Boy, sitting on a runway is a good way of getting run over by a great big airplane! Glad they closed the runway so you quit doing that - don't take up that habit in other airports......gets very messy cleaning up the landing gear!
