Be careful. A lot of Russian Vodka, etc is "rotgut" meant for the local market.

If you are with a guide ask for recommendations but good vodka will not cost much less than the states.

That being said, we did buy local premium brands, not available in the states, and did enjoy them. Just don't buy the $3 bottles and think you are getting something great.

I suspect the same hold true for caviar and I am not sure you can bring it back to the states.
