lord of the seas Posted March 2, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 2, 2010 Are neckties necessary on informal nights? (Obviously yes on formal and no on casual) I always wear a tie and suit for informal evenings and a bow tie with a tuxedo on formal nights. On casual evenings I wear a jacket and open neck shirt. you can't go wrong with that. dougburns Posted March 2, 2010 #3 Share Posted March 2, 2010 You'll see a lot of the men wearing a sport jacket and open collar shirt on informal nights. I always wear a tie unless I have a turttle neck on under my jacket. Lynn always wears a long dress on informal nights.
unfathomable Posted March 2, 2010 #4 Share Posted March 2, 2010 I always wear a tie on informal nights, but the dress code is "jacket required, tie optional".

SonomaWine Posted March 2, 2010 #8 Share Posted March 2, 2010 GeneKAs I've said before -- BARE ARMS on men at dinner cause me to want to BEAR ARMS! Dusababy we will get along just fine on our upcoming cruise! I don't tend to wear a tie at all, so on informal nights it will be open collar and a sport jacket. I think I did wear a tie on informal nights, but that was a cool weather cruise! Good news, and confirmation of my supposition when noting your "shipment" to Shadow -- a gentleman who appreciates the finer things in life;) P.S. - Glad to see your countdown clock. I don't have one but this makes me think I'd better get crackin'......:p See you Friday !! Dusababy

Hobar Posted March 3, 2010 #14 Share Posted March 3, 2010 You may go sans tie. There will always be those that sneer at you, but you wouldn't want to be in their company anyway.
dwelsh Posted March 6, 2010 #15 Share Posted March 6, 2010 Just off the Shadow, cruising for 26 nights. Men's dress on casual nights 50/50 ties/no ties, on informal it appeared that there were more ties than on casual nights. Really did not see anyone not dressed appropriately for the really classy ship.
