Diving in Aruba

We are considering a 14 day cruise next March. Aruba would be our first port and we are both certified divers. Can anyone tell me if Aruba is a good dive site, or is it better to do another activity and choose to dive at another port? The other ports will include:

Grenada, Grenada

Curacao, Netherlands Antilles

Grenada, Grenada

St. Vincent & the Grenadines

Barbados

St. Kitts & Nevis

St. Thomas

Santo Domingo

Grand Turk

Any info would be appreciated. This will be our first time to all of these ports except St. Thomas.

I can compare diving Curacao vs. Aruba.

Curacao diving was better BY FAR.

Dives in Aruba are not "bad" but do not expect visibility like the Bahamas.

Curacao coral and fish life are in much better shape than Aruba.

With GT being part of the Bahamas, I would think their diving would be excellent as well.

I totally agree with Arubalisa. Curacao is a much better dive island. Bonaire is even better but you are not stopping there. Check out the Curacao thread to see what is being said over there. Great dive spots...not far from Port. I am headed there in November and plan on making 3 dives. Yeah!

If you are only going to dive on one island then Curacao wins hands down. I dove in Aruba last month and it is good, I have gone on dives there about 6 different times. Our week in Curacao a few years ago was far superior.

I'll second (or third) the Curacao recommendation over Aruba. I reccmmend the Dive Bus on Curacao as a good operation.
