Car rental-San Juan

Has anybody rented a car in San Juan?

How's the traffic? We have two days pre-cruise and the day we come back ,our flight leaves at 6PM. We are going to have a lot of luggage (6 people)and we probably are going to be too tired to go on another excursion. Is the car rental a good option?

Driving here, in Puerto Rico, is not easy...Honestly, we drive kind of cowboysh... and... street signs are not very clear... so depending on where you will stay, cabs may be a better option...

 

but if opting for the rental, which a lot of my company associates do when they fly down here, then make sure to get directions from the hotel staff, or someone at the touristic booths on the airport, car rental company, and main attractions... we have a tendency to use nicknames for streets, which may get you lost fairly quick!
