I Love BBC's Posted May 27, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 27, 2004 Sorry, long subject line... Just wondering. I am booked on Serenade for 1/15/05 and wanted to find out how to check pricing to see if I get any money back... I checked the website but it appears they only have Decks 2-4 available now since the ship is so booked. Where can I find my price for a Cat L on Lido Deck? Thanks for your help, fellow Cruisers! gkrebs Posted May 27, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 27, 2004 the only way to check is if there are still cabins available in the category you selected. From your post, I would guess that whatever site you booked from no longer shows that category as available. If so, then you can forget about any reductions coming up until after final payments are due, when folks cancel out. Start checking again at that time Gary Explorer of the Seas 10/24/04 Dawn Princess 10/12/03 Voyager of the Seas 12/01/02 Adventurer of the Seas 4/21/02 Sea Breeze 06/98 Atlantis 06/70 Time to Set Sail
Family of 14 Posted May 27, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 27, 2004 I looked at icruise.com and your sailing is showing up with a price for the Cat. L @ $655 pp including port charges. WOW! That's pretty good...how can you get much better than that! What did you pay? iluvcruzin Posted May 27, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 27, 2004 I find icruise higher than cruise.com. I use icruse to find what rooms are available, but cruise.com as a quote compare. I Love BBC's Posted June 1, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted June 1, 2004 I paid 767.05 per person. Since you saw the price for lower than what I paid, how do you get a refund from RC? Is that how it works? Crazsea Posted June 1, 2004 #8 Share Posted June 1, 2004 Hi BBC's, I-cruise is a good one, but they state on their website that they charge fees!Ouch!!! I-cruises total price with port fees and taxes and delivery fee was $687.00 this morning. As long as you don't intend to cancel or change things, you should be O.K. Cruisevacationcenter states on their website that there are no additional fees, but they are $14.00 higher than I-cruise, at least they were this morning when I checked. Either one of those TA's are fine! GOOD LUCK!
I Love BBC's Posted June 15, 2004 Author #9 Share Posted June 15, 2004 You are correct. I checked with my TA who called RCL and they confirmed the price they gave me, saying that the price given on icruise is before their added fees, taxes and surcharges. Oh well! Thanks anyway until we sail on Serenade!</size> RCCL Serenade 1.15.05 --->CLICK for our Roll Call! CCL Inspiration 3.7.2004 RCCL Adventure 7.6.2003 CCL Destiny 6.30.2002 CCL Imagination 1.16.1999 CCL Fascination 3.17.1998
timbo89 Posted June 15, 2004 #10 Share Posted June 15, 2004 I think your T/A might be misleading you. There are several charges when booking a cruise: 1. The base cost of the cruise (This is the "commissionable" part of the cruise fare.) 2. Port Charges 3. Taxes 4. Cruise Insurance 5. Airfare/Shuttle services Also, there can be "add-on" charges 1. Pre and post cruise hotel charges 2. Booking charges (some agencies charge this) 3. Cancellation charges (some agencies will charge this too) 4. Ticket shipping charges. (some agencies might refer to this as a overnight mail charge) I do not use icruise , but checked the total amount that they would charge you. That number that was quoted DID include port charges, but DID NOT include the taxes ($28 each), the cruise insurance or any airfare. Be careful that your T/A outlines all these charges. My guess is that you are being charged full price by your T/A. That's fine if you feel comfortable with he/she. However, a word of caution. Your T/A does not HAVE to match any other prices you may find online, nor do they HAVE to match any reductions by the cruiseline.
cruisegirl1 Posted June 15, 2004 #11 Share Posted June 15, 2004 I just started using cheapertravel and found that they have very good prices. I recently switched my RCCL booking to them. I usually book through RCCL but decided to give them a try. So far so good – I guess the test will be when I get the docs. They are quoting your Cat L $695.pp (deck 9 – I am not familiar enough with the Serenade to know which deck is Lido). This is the web price. Good luck Marci Happy Cruising ! 9 cruises - RCCL 3 cruises - Carnival
