Mike2131 Posted March 7, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 7, 2010 We were at a travel show yesterday and visited with the Hurtigruten rep. He told us this has been a very cold winter in northern Europe and some sea areas froze that have not frozen over since perhaps WWII. There are 25+ ships currently stuck in pack ice in the Baltic and ice breakers are being repositioned to free them. The result for PAII cruises in Spitzbergen is that wildlife has moved south and there could be some great viewing this year. Very interesting (and promising) info so I thought I would pass it along. msrieski Posted March 7, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 7, 2010 Since our northward progress may be limited by ice, it would be great if the wildlife has moved south to accomodate us! ms rieski PAII Spitzbergen to Tromso 6/
