grandmacruise Posted March 8, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 8, 2010 It seems like the streets are very hilly in San Juan (old San Juan??) I've never been before and would love to see the city and fort. Are the streets managable for an out of shape grandmother? Walking flat is no problem but I get out of breath quickly on steep hills. Thanks for any information. 4spring9 Posted March 8, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 8, 2010 There is a free trolley that goes around OSJ & up to El Morro.
rainforestgirl Posted March 8, 2010 #3 Share Posted March 8, 2010 Yes, OSJ is on a hill, but you can find some areas that are flat. And there are parks around that have benches, and places you can stop in to rest along the way. But if you are ok with downhill walking, take the trolley or a taxi up to El Morro and walk down from there.
sail7seas Posted March 8, 2010 #4 Share Posted March 8, 2010 If you are able to walk fine on flat surfaces you should be able to manage OSJ if you go at a pace comfortable to you. There are level sections.
