Walking San Juan hills?

It seems like the streets are very hilly in San Juan (old San Juan??) I've never been before and would love to see the city and fort. Are the streets managable for an out of shape grandmother? Walking flat is no problem but I get out of breath quickly on steep hills. Thanks for any information.

Yes, OSJ is on a hill, but you can find some areas that are flat. And there are parks around that have benches, and places you can stop in to rest along the way.

But if you are ok with downhill walking, take the trolley or a taxi up to El Morro and walk down from there.
