skiblu2 Posted March 9, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2010 I will be cruising there in mid may. Would anyone know, aside from booking shore excursions from the ship, will there be tour guides at the ships dock? Usually the prices are less expensive from them. Host Caroline Posted March 10, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 10, 2010 Which ports are you going to? Assuming you will go Halifax as nearly every Canada/England cruise does and there are plenty of locals around and a lot to do (Maritime Museum, fortress, harbor cruises) right near where your ship will be docked if you want to just plan a day on your own. If you are docking Boston, the cruiseport is not near downtown so you will need to take shuttle and there weren't locals at the pier when we were there 2 yrs ago. alabama ghost Posted March 10, 2010 #3 Share Posted March 10, 2010 If you're going to Bar Harbor, Oli's Trolley is good for a tour that's about 3 hours long. Google it and if you want to, make reservations ahead of time. We did the Old Town Trolley (HOHO) in Boston.

We will be docking in Sydney,Gaspe, Sept-Iles, Saguenay It is these ports I was wondering about. Some ports ( I don't know about Ca.) There are kiosks set up near the port, usually they are less expensive than the ships tours. I know about Olies trolley.
