Roll Call

Hi New to this board..............what is a Roll Call about and how does one join it? Thanks for your input!;)

Roll call is a seperate members only section of the Cruise Critic Message Boards. Someone usually starts a message thread specific to their cruise ship and sailing date. Then other Cruise Critic members can sign on and introduce themselves and carry on a conversation about their upcoming cruise. If there is enough interest, someone in the group arranges to have an event called a "meet and greet" early on during the cruise so you can meet your fellow cc'ers. Some cruises have a large contingency from these boards and some do not. There is no harm in signing up for a free account and seeing if there is one for your cruise, and if not, start one and see what happens.

A roll call is a thread set up on the "Roll Call " boards for a particular cruise on a particular date. People can chat about themselves, the cruise, what excursions they are taking--or setting up private excursions. It is a fun way to meet other cruise critic members that will be on your cruise. Many times a "meet & greet" is arranged onboard the ship so you can actually meet each other. If you are booked on a particular cruise--go to the roll call board, look for your cruiseline, then look for your ship and lastly look for your sailing date. Have fun :)

I'm not great at explaining thing but here goes. Roll Calls are where you can meet people that are going on the same cruise you are. They usually have a get-together on your ship, could be the first or second day. Because your already a member of CC you are able to join in any roll call.

Go to the top of this page and where you see BOARDS on the left hand side in the orange bar-click it and then there will be lists. Go down to ROLL CALLS-click HOLLAND AMERICA. It will list the ships, pick the ship your cruise is on-click it. On that page will be lots of cruises listed, pick out the one your going on-click it, then introduce yourself and you will be off and running.
