Which pier are you docking at? Havensight or Crown Bay? Or tendering into Charlotte Amalie downtown?

On our most recent cruise, we docked at Crown Bay, off ship at 8:15, in taxi leaving parking area at 8:25, drove through town and past Havensight, and just barely made the 9:00 Red Hook Ferry. Coming back from the 5:00 ferry to Red Hook our driver took us a different way back to Crown Bay so we could avoid the congestion at Havensight. I don't recall how long that way was but it had good views.

Cruz Bay to Trunk Bay - I have never driven it straight (either stopped at Hawksnest or the overlook for photos). Maybe 20 minutes? Someone else can probably answer that better. :)

Hello Premiumrican,

The links Mandy provided have the information you requested and more.

From havensight to Red Hook is about 20 minutes drive and about $8 a person (in a shared cab)/one way. You have to take a ferry from Red Hook on St. Thomas to Cruz Bay on St. John - thats a 15 minute ferry ride at $3 per person/one way. Then take a taxi from Cruz Bay to Trunk Bay. $5.50 for one person, $9 for two people, $4 each for a group of 3+ and takes about 12 minutes.

  • 3 weeks later...

stefhef - This past November, hubby and I paid $9 each from Crown Bay to Red Hook (and also $9 each coming back). We were placed in a van with other passengers. Because we rented a dinghy in Cruz Bay we did not use a taxi to Cinnamon Bay... although we did stop there with the dinghy.:) You will absolutely love St John. I was just flipping through an Islands magazine at the bookstore today and it had a several-page article on St John. Made me miss it. :(
