pbk917 Posted January 24, 2005 #1 Share Posted January 24, 2005 Does anyone have an opinion on the Vancouver Aquarium? We (Mom. Dad & 12 yo Daughter) are thinking of spending the day there in July prior to our cruise.
basser Posted January 24, 2005 #2 Share Posted January 24, 2005 We were there 5 years ago. Definately go. Its a very good aquarium. They have some of the Beluga whales. I'm not sure you can spend a whole day there. They have several shows.

42trvl Posted January 24, 2005 #4 Share Posted January 24, 2005 We were there this past summer with our 9 & 11 year olds. One of the nicest aquariums we've been to. We also added on something with a trainer - I forget what it's called, but you get to go "behind the scenes" with a trainer (you have a choice of a couple of different animals), learn more about them and feed them. It was pretty interesting.
dbertell Posted January 24, 2005 #5 Share Posted January 24, 2005 We were there last year and really enjoyed ourselves. They have both indoor exhibits and outdoor exhibits, some where you can see well under water. You will have a great time.

Used to be rated among one of the best in North America when I was living in Vancouver..not sure how it rates now..but still a great attraction. It's right in Stanley Park, so you can do both in the same day. A walk on the sea-wall is very nice on a nice Vancouver day.
kimbtech Posted January 26, 2005 #7 Share Posted January 26, 2005 Don't hesitate to take your family, you'll have a wonderful time. Just by the walk way to the aquarium is a kiosk where you can purchase tickets that include the acquarium and a ride through Stanley Park on a horse drawn wagon. It worth doing both of these trips (and cheaper if you combine). Enjoy your stay and cruise.
natesfirewife Posted January 27, 2005 #8 Share Posted January 27, 2005 Does anyone know how much that cost off hand? I had forgotten about the aquarium and would be interested in going. We just did the one in New Orleans that is supposed to be in the top 5 in the US, so I wonder how it compares. Misty
