Pacific versus Atlantic question

Wondering if the Pacific Ocean is more rough than the Atlantic Ocean? I have heard that the Pacific is more rough but was wondering what everyone else thought.

supposedly, the pacific ocean got it's name because it's so peaceful. i dont know anything about the pacific, just some useless crap i learned in high school.

The oceans are big places. You should be more specfic about where and what time of year.

 

I would not want to be cruising the North Atlantic in winter, or even making a Bermuda run between October and April.

Interesting question, and I'd be curious to know if one is generally rougher than the other.

Also, is there a time of year that each is better than other times of the year?

for a general answer, i believe the pacific is a little rougher on the mexican riviera cruises. i've only been on one four day cruise out of l.a., but it was worse than anything i've been on from the atlantic side, western carib, eastern carib, southern carib.

We've cruised the Pacific quite a bit, and we've never had a "rough" cruise--smooth sailing all the way. The only time we encountered rough seas was coming out of Cabo one time, but even then I did not consider it "rough."
