another dumb question

DH and I leave on the Ryndam Saturday. We are "new" Mariners. I thought I read somewhere that we can board the ship at 11 am. Is that correct? My question is what do we do with our carryons and coats while waiting for access to our room? I'm guessing that we will have to carry them with us as we explore, have lunch, etc. Any info will be appreciated.

Thanks!!

Betty

Check your room when you get on board. It may be possible to locate your steward and just place your luggage in the closet out of the way while he/she makes up the room. If you're in a suite, you can leave your belongings in the Neptune Lounge. Otherwise, you'll just need to keep them with you.

If you board before you are able to go to your room HAL will provide a secure area in which to store your carry-on's and coats. When I used the service there was a steward there to guard the belongings; he issued a claim check and attached the other half to the luggage.

This was so much more convenient than dragging my things behind me. When the early-boarding plans were first introduced there was no mention of this service, and I worried about it on this board. Don't know if HAL read the comments and acted on them or not, but my concern had been that those of us travelling alone would have difficulties trying to drag carry-ons through the LIDO line.

Problem solved.

Vegas Jim and Ruth C.:

Thank you so much for your quick responses!! I love the idea of an area to check our stuff if the room isn't ready! These boards are wonderful - mainly due to the "regulars" like you all who are so willing to share info and advice.

Thanks again, Betty
