HELP, HELP, HELP - Thomas Cook Hand Luggage

Did not realise just how small the hand luggage is to be from Gatwick on Thomas Cook plane (43cm x 28cm x 23cm and 5kg). Can anybody please tell me how strict they are, as none of my normal hand luggage is any where near to this size. Do you have to put the luggage into a measurer? I was going to use my CAT rucksack which is quite small, but even that is far too big. I even think my handbag is too big (and I was not even planning to take this!) :eek:

 

I know you don't need much luggage, but my husband wants to take his camera case and various medications, and I always like to have a change of clothing just in case cases get lost or delayed.

 

Has anybody recently been on Princess and flown via Gatwick on Thomas Cook. Can they tell me how strict they are.
