Montego Bay with Thomas Cook flights from Gatwick and hand luggage

All our hand luggage appears to be too big for our flight, and even looking in catalogues, there does not appear to be anything similarly measured (43cm x 28cm x 23cm and only 5kg). Has anybody been through Gatwick recently on Thomas Cook flight and had their hand luggage checked?

Husband has to take medical equipment and cameras and I always take spare set of clothes each in case things get lost. We are not excessive packers, but these sizes are even smaller than the handbag I am planning to leave behind!!!

Please can anybody help with advice as we leave very shortly!!!!!!!!!!
