Day-bags Carried-on at SJU & USDA Inspection?

If I use the Luggage Valet Service for all my luggage suitcases, do I still have to go through the USDA inspection for any day-bags, purses and other handbags that I carry-on the airplane?

 

I will already have my airline tickets (from Luggage Valet Service) so I don't have to go to the ticket counter.

 

Can I just arrive at the San Juan Airport and go directly to the Security Line?

I know that when I went through, I did not have to send my carryon through the USDA check, they did it at security but others have had to send their carry on through. The best thing to do is when you get to the airport, stop at the USDA check and ask.
