Pacific Jewel in Noumea inplace of Emerald Bay

Pacific Jewel appears to be in Noumea today. Her cruise schedule should have her at Emerald Bay. Any news or any thoughts why?

I was thinking the same thing. I didn't think that looked like Emerald Bay.

 

On our Pacific Dawn NYE cruise we stopped at Noumea for pipe repairs instead of Isle Of Pines.

 

Hope they are not having similar problems.

Emerald Bay is a nice place, I would be disappointed if I had to go to Noumea instead.

Emerald bay is beautiful.

 

They are in Isle Of Pines today. So I guess they won't be going there now.

They might have swapped the itinerary around because of weather conditions. Wait and see where they are tomorrow.

We've been reading a blog of the cruise and it's said that due to rough weather around the northern end of New Caledonia, remnants of the cyclones, the Captain, Commodore Steve Burgoine, decided to alter the iteninerary to Noumea -> Isle of Pines -> Emerald Bay -> Sydney to allow the sea conditions around Emerald Bay to improve.

 

Commodore Burgoine is relieving Captain Paolettii who had headed home to Italy for a break, and to check up on his beloved Alpha Romeo Spider. He was telliing us that he was excited that the Commodore of the P&O Cruises UK fleet was going to be relieving him while he was away.
