Enterprise Rental OK for Hilo???

Our ship stops in Hilo. We have rented from Enterprise (875 Kanoelehua Ave). They will pick us up at ship (I think). Have any of you rented from them at this port? Would we be better to rent from an agency at the Hilo airport? Any info/advice is welcome. Thank you.

There probably is not much difference. The Enterprise office is in the general vicinity of the airport so the travel time to pick up and drop off the car would be about the same as renting at the airport.

We have been back 2 weeks now :(.

We rented from Enterprise on Hilo. They picked us up from the ship & took care of our reservation quickly. Upon return to the office at the end of the day, there were quite a few ship passengers so the lovely manager found

a few employees to get us all back to the ship quickly. Very accommodating!

We rented from Enterprise in Hilo last fall.

We made all the arrangements before we arrived (totally recommended to assure you of a car available). When we got to the port, they called for the shuttle to take us to the pick up point. Only problem is, they took us to your destination when we had arranged pick up at the airport. We always rent a mini van in case we find others wanting to join us for a tour.

They were great and when they actually took us to the wrong office, they whisked us back to the airport in nothing flat.

It took only minutes to get our car at the airport.

Funny thing was, the mini van we rented had a problem with the drivers side seat belt (it wouldn't retract and kept catching in the drivers side door). As they met us at the car they saw what it was doing and immediately offered us 20% off the rental rate for the problem with the seat belt.

I would highly recommend them, they were great to work with.

One thing that is always a good idea, since everyone carrys a digital camera. Take some pictures of the car before you get in while they are standing there. Have your date and time stamp on your camera. This way, there is never a problem if they claim damage, or you can prove it was already there when you picked up the car. :)

We used Enterprise last year and all went well, until we brought car back and they said we d put on scratchs,we disputed claim but were still billed quite a lot,,,,so beware IF you use them in HIlo,, had used them in Maui with no problem...just a heads up:confused:

Whenever we rent a car we do a thorough walk around with the agent, pointing out any dings or dents. We make sure they are documented...and we take out the cheap insurance. We are interested in a car rental when we visit Hawaii next March so all info is of interest to us. Thanks everyone
