Docking at St. Thomas, Crown Bay Pier - Anything close?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if there are things to do that are within walking distance of Crown Bay Pier? We will have our 2 kids with us (3 and 5) and are hesitant about using taxis and open air buses due to the car seat issue.

Also, if anyone has experience with kids at this port and St. Maarten, I'd love to hear what you have done.

Thanks!

There are shops directly at the pier, and when we were there a nice Music / Dancing show put on by the locals. Also the kids will love the wildlife that live on the rocky area all around the port. Re St Maarten the water taxi will take you directly down town to the shops and really nice beach area. Enjoy your cruise.

We don't have any kids, but I can tell you there is nothing within walking distance of Crown Bay. Havensight is much nicer. We docked at Crown Bay on a Princess ship in February and walked to town, probably 2 miles each way, and not as nice a walk as from Havensight. There will be a few jewelry shops there, but not much else to do. So you would definitely need to take a taxi somewhere with the kids.
