Help with Miami to Ft Lauderdale Plan

Here is the way we have it planned thus far. Just wanted some of your who are experienced at this to tell me if it sounds good or if it needs to be changed. We fly into Miami around noon on Saturday, April 24. We are renting a car from National. We will drive to our hotel at the Marina in Ft. Lauderdale (Hilton with Hilton Honors points). We will spend the day exploring Ft. Lauderdale. Sunday morning we will drive to the port and drop off our luggage and then drive to National Car Rental and drop off the car. We will then take a shuttle to the port.

 

On the return trip we are taking a Princess shuttle from the port to the Miami Airport for a 12:40 p.m. flight home.

 

Anyone who can comment on the pros or cons of this plan please let me know. It is much appreciated.
