Best Time To Book

When is the best time to find the best price for a cruise on the East Coast of the U.S.?

I assume there are certain times of the year when the prices generally are the best.

Depends on when and where you want to go.

Generally, a couple of weeks before sailing often has the lowest prices, IF there are many unsold cabins. However, if you need to fly to get to the cruise, last minute airfare will probably wipe out any savings.

Also, there is no guarentee there will be any cabins available close to sailing or that their priced will be low.

That's the age old travel question every one would like the answer to. In my own experience it all depends on the line you book. If you book with RCCL and the price drops they're pretty good about giving you the lower price as long as you haven't paid in full yet. On Carnival, if you book the early saver and find a lower price you fill out a form and get the new price or on board credit depending on if you've paid in full. These are just my own experiences though. So, I guess for me, the earlier the better.
