The Islander Posted March 27, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 27, 2010 The beaches here are typically pretty calm to gentle waves; no big waves. Exceptions are around Nov-Mar when a few beaches get some decent waves, thats the "surfing season". Beaches like Hull Bay (not right at the beach but off to the side of the beach) and Caret Bay get surfable waves. Some beaches during this same time period - more so in say January/February get waves when they are typically super calm. This includes Magens Bay for example which is usually like a lake. Other exception is around August/September - part of hurricane season - if there is a storm in the area then typically it brings waves. But as mentioned in the first sentence, beaches here are usually real calm. --Islander

This pic was taken last Christmas in St Marteen at Mahoo Beach. The waves at least that day were awsome.

Not too familiar with St. Marteen. There is a separate board on this site for that island, so you might try posting your question there too. --Islander
