Skagway-Chilkoot Hike and Float?

Hi there. I am interested in this tour. It is available through Princess and independently through Southeast Tours. The spokesman at Southeast informs me it is the exact same hike and float, just done through a different tour company. Since there is a $115.00 (for family of five)savings to go independently, that is my inclination. Has anyone had a bad experience with Southeast or heard of a reason (other than missing the boat due to delays, there's plenty of cushion in our schedule) why I might reconsider?
