Hotel in Venice??

Recommended Posts

We stayed at the Hotel Ala, which is a Best Western, they offer a senior european rate for those over 50, (aarp) which made it very reasonable. They are in a good location, in a square not far from St. Marco and have a wonderful breakfast, a private taxi dock and a vaporetto just around the corner. Would stay there again

Good to know hotel offers a AARP rate, both hubby and I are over 50. A few questions if you don't mind. Did you stay at the Hotel Ala pre or post cruise? How did you get to the hotel (private water taxi, land taxi?) What was the transport cost? Which ship were you on? Thanks in advance for your replies.

We stayed at the Hotel Ala for 3 days post cruise as we were coming off a wonderful cruise on the Celebrity Milleniumm. When we disembarked there is a booth for the water taxi's and they giave us a reservation number( at this time we were able to share the price of the water taxi with 2 other couples( they would make different stops for the different hotels as long as they were in they same general area....wait for the water taxi was around 1 hr,) we had those little carts you see at the airport, just loaded our luggage on that and wheeled it to the taxi stand .....not a far walk. To get to the vapretto station when you embark or disembark is about a 1/2 mile walk, which would be okay with no luggage....but not with all of ours( 3 pieces for the two of us) and our carry-ons. As for the day we left, the hotel arranged for sa water taxi to come right to their entrance and away we went. The driver was wonderful and since we left with enough time gave us a tour of Venice for no additional charge

We stayed 4 days pre cruise Golden Princess a couple years ago at Hotel Benevinetti (sp?) which is very close to St. Marco. Very centrally located, great breakfast included, private water taxi dock and very close to where you can catch the gondolas.

We had to take a private water taxi to the ship and it cost us about $100 US for 3 of us and our luggage.

hotel do pozzi

great prices, great location and great staff. They respond very fast to email request. two blocks from St. Marks square. Check other prices for the same location. You can't beat their winning combination. Plus you receive a discount at the restaurant that is very good.
