Babakay Posted January 25, 2005 #1 Share Posted January 25, 2005 I have a few questions about my upcoming stop in Key West. Which is better the Conch Train or the Trolley. They seem about the same price. I think the difference is you can board and reboard on the trolley. Is that correct? Are they about the same price? Also, we were thinking of renting a bike in Key West. Does anyone know about that? I think that would be a fun option.:)
twinkletoes4445 Posted January 25, 2005 #2 Share Posted January 25, 2005 I don't know anything about the bikes, but we saw them everywhere. As for the trolley or the conch train, the main difference is you can get off and on when you use the trolley (but not if you buy your tickets through the cruise line, I believe). The conch train is open to the air (has a top, but no windows) and the trolley is a trolley, with windows that open and close. So if it's raining, I would take the trolley. We enjoyed the trolley because we wanted to get off and explore different areas. I believe the trolleys come along every 20 minutes or so.
Rare Clay Clayton Posted January 26, 2005 #3 Share Posted January 26, 2005 A bike is definately a great idea....Key West is basically flat and the highest point is all of 5 feet above sea level so riding around town is easy...even for those os us overweight and not in good shape! There are a number of places to rent from, including one company that will bring the bikes to you at the cruise ship...unfortuantely I don't have their contact information anymore, but you should be able to find several companies on http://www.keywest.com Clay - a key west local
