fun.in.the.sun Posted January 26, 2005 #1 Share Posted January 26, 2005 I just booked a last minute cruise leaving february 5th, my passport expires in july (5 months from the cruise). I didn't think there would be a problem, but I just read that the island of Roatan only accepts US passports within 6 months of expiration. Can someone confirm or deny this?? Will they not let me board the ship if my passport expires in 5 months?....Please advise me...Thanks
doone Posted January 26, 2005 #2 Share Posted January 26, 2005 Check with your cruise line, but yes, that is true, your passport, no matter where you travel that requires a passport, cannot expire within 6 months of the end of your cruise. springtxbill Posted January 26, 2005 #3 Share Posted January 26, 2005 If you are actually going to be staying in or departing from Roatan, then you would need the 6 months passport. As a pax on the ship you can actually have an expired passport for identification. Verify this with your cruiseline, but I believe it is true.
