We are looking at a Disney cruise for a family reunion with six grandchildren 6 yrs. to 20.

The 20 year old is a Disney fan and loves to work with children. She is not a partyer. The 15 year old is a Disney fan but she is a partyer or would like to be. The 6 to 11 year olds are Disney fans and would probably love it.

Would like to get some of your thoughts, from your experience on Disney. What should we do expect?

Between our kids and grandkids we have taken kids clsoe to the age of those you mention. Our oldest was 19, not 20 but he had a blast. They have a meet for singles who are too old for the teen club but not 21 yet and he made several friends whom he hung out with.

At 18 and older they can go to the adult club so they can go to the adult comedy shows, live music and dancing, sports bar and many other fun events during the day that the younger ones cant do.

The teen club has dances, swim parties, video games, pizza parties and games like scavenger hunts etc... All are supervised so its fun but someone is keeping an eye on them. They can come and go as they please to the club. So if your 14 year old likes music and dancing she would at least like that.

Disney also has a movie theater which show kiddie shows in the day. Tween type movies in the evening and more adult themed movies at night usually.

Many kids love to be able to go to a movie without adults having to take them. Especially the teens.

Plus young kids who normally cant sit still and do make noise wont have to worry when going to the family shows both in the movie theater and the main live shows because it is expected with kids. So parents dont have to be embarassed if the kids make a little noise at the movies.

This is Disney and it is geared in many places for kids to be kids..

Studio Sea is a family night club for all ages. Fun games, dances, arts and crafts.

Our cruises are the only place that there is something for every family members to do something fun for themselves. Everyone goes their own way and meets for special events or meals. It worked great.

Please go to the DCL website and order the free DVD to watch, that will help you a lot.

Also the book called the Passporter will help, it is a great book.

At the top of this forum page is a Tips thread and it is full of informaton for new cruisers and may answer a lot of your questions.

Also once you pick a date to cruise, go to the roll call forums and look for your date. Post there to get aquainted with others on your cruise. That is a great way to find other kids the ages of your grandkids and hopefully they will exchange e-mail addresses and make friends before the cruise.

Our grandkids always do that and then they have a friend waiting on board which helps them to know someone in the clubs or to hang out with.

You asked what to expect on Disney.

Expect to have the time of your life!!!!:D

We just got off the disney wonder. Our kids are 12 and 16. The wonder is really lacking for 12 year olds. We went and looked into the kids center. My daughter said "no way". The age group is 3-12. Seriously? I did not see anyone older than 9 in there.

She went to the teen club and had no problem getting in. She did a couple things with kids she met. The 16 year old boy is kind of shy and did not meet anyone.

We had an awesome time though. Really great food and entertainment.

We are going to Alaska with two girls - 12.6 & 13.6. I understand the teen club starts at 13. Will my 12 year old be allowed in or is the age limit strictly enforced. It seems kind of weird that the 12 year olds would be with the 3 year olds.
