star gazer Posted April 9, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 9, 2010 Last November DW and I visited Stone Island and were astounded at the hurricane damage to the restaurants and the beach. None of the restaurants were open and the beach was littered with dead fish. Any recent reports on the restaurants? I like to assume they are up and running again. swedish weave Posted April 9, 2010 #3 Share Posted April 9, 2010 I have been to Stone Island several times in the past two years, and have not seen dead fish on the beach. Any hurricane damage to the restaurants was quickly repaired. The restuarants are mostly open with palm frond roofs, and the owners are locals, so this is the way they make their living. They do not allow damage to exist very ling if they intend to keep the place open. Some of the restaurants I have never seen open, and that may be what some posters have observed thinking the hurricane damaged them.
