With snuba, it is typically an air tank similar to what you would wear with scuba. The tank is usually much larger, though. With hookah, the air is supplied by a generator. The bottom time with snuba varies with how many people are sharing the air supply. With hookah, it's limited to the size of the gas tank fueling the generator.
